Seattle Adventures: A Fall Day In Snoqualmie

When the colors start changing and the days get shorter we hit the road for a quick day trip to Snoqualmie. This is the perfect time of the year to escape the city, chase some waterfalls, and take in the Pacific Northwest scenery along I-90.

Keep your eyes open for elk

We stumbled across a majestic herd of elk while driving from Franklin Falls to Twedes and stopped the car and took it all in.

Eat at Tweedes

It was featured in Twin Peaks and has some amazing pie, serves breakfast all day and is a place you need to try at least once.

Enjoy the Fall colors

If you time it right, you will see walls of fall colors that will give you all kinds of feelings! Seriously, some of the colors along the trails are mind-blowing. Early to mid October is the best time to catch these colors.

Visit Snoqualmie Falls

You are in Snoqualmie, so you might as well visit Snoqualmie Falls. Lots of parking and a photo worthy view.

Snoqualmie Point Park

Located off of exit 27, Snoqualmie Point Park has a great view of Snoqualmie Valley, Mount Si and the Cascade Mountain Range. The park also features a view shelter (pictured above) that is great for a rainy day and trail access to Rattlesnake Mountain Trail.

The Northwest Railway Museum

Stop by The Northwest Railway Museum to view the historic trains! The museum includes the 1890 Snoqualmie Depot on King St and the Railway History Center on Stone Quarry Rd. It also includes 5.5 miles of track. You also can ride a train Saturdays and Sundays, April through October. Always good to check dates and times ahead!

Go Cruising

Our GM, Matt McDonald, enjoys cruising the open roads in the area. Do it by bike, car, skateboard or just walk. The Snoqualmie area is full of beautiful road porn!

Hit the Snoqualmie Valley Trail

The Snoqualmie Valley Trail rolls from verdant dairy land in the north to a clear blue mountain lake in the south. Along the way, travelers are treated to numerous trestle crossings, historic towns, views of mountains and farmland, and a roaring waterfall. Rain or shine this is a beautiful walk to take!

Hit Franklin Falls

Venture to Franklin Falls just 20 minutes past the city of Snoqualmie. It's a quick hike to the waterfall from the parking lot and the trail system is a lot of fun.

View or Hike Mount Si

Mount Si is a popular trail, and the parking lot will be overflowing with people on a nice day. It's a great hike with about a 3,100-foot gain in a little under four miles. If you aren't feeling up to the hike, it is also beautiful to look at.

Capture Some Sweet Photos

Snoqualmie is full of photo opportunities like the fall scene above! We can't tell you where we captured that though. Plus, half the fun of capturing an amazing photo is finding the spot and being there at the right time. Good luck hunting for photos!

Eat at Caadxi Oaxaca

If you are in the mood for some proper Mexican food make sure to stop by Caadxi Oaxaca! They have a great salsa bar and we loved their tacos! It's a great way to fuel up before the drive back to the city!
