General Manager (Sales + Community) — Do206 & DoPDX
Seattle or Portland | Full-Time | $80,000–$110,000 (OTE depending on experience)
We’re hiring a General Manager to lead Do206 and DoPDX — someone who can build strong partnerships, drive revenue,
and stay closely connected to what’s happening in each city. If you’re energized by relationship-building, sales,
and making a real impact in the local events scene, this role is for you.
Do206 and DoPDX are looking for a sales-driven, culture-forward General Manager to lead both markets.
This role is hands-on: part relationship-builder, part operator, and part community connector.
Your core mission is to grow revenue and partnerships, strengthen our position in the local scene,
and ensure Do206 + DoPDX remain the go-to guide for what’s happening in Seattle and Portland.
The Role
As General Manager, you’ll own the growth and success of Do206 & DoPDX, with responsibilities across four areas:
What You’ll Do
1) Revenue Growth & Strategy
Goal: Drive revenue growth through advertising, partnerships, and a strong pipeline.
This role is built around revenue — and it starts with sales.
- Sell and manage your own book of business, building relationships and closing partnerships
- Develop sponsorship and advertising opportunities with venues, brands, festivals, promoters, and more
- Ensure Do206 & DoPDX remain strong local products that support HQ execution of national and multi-city deals
- Build and manage a steady pipeline of DoMORE inventory and partnership offerings
- Drive DoMORE membership growth through creative strategies beyond paid social
2) Audience Development
Goal: Make Do206 & DoPDX the most culturally relevant voice in each city.
- Develop and maintain an authentic brand voice that resonates with Seattle and Portland audiences
- Lead audience growth across site, email, social, and emerging channels
- Build meaningful relationships with tastemakers, venues, promoters, and local creative communities
- Maintain a strong real-world presence by attending events and staying connected to the scene
3) Product & Content
Goal: Curate and promote the most culturally relevant guide to each city’s events, while driving engagement and membership.
- Help guide content strategy to ensure Do206 & DoPDX stay ahead of what people care about
- Manage the Content Manager, interns, and additional staff to support a strong editorial calendar
- Identify opportunities for editorial innovation, partnerships, and curated experiences
- Use analytics and KPI reporting to improve content performance and audience retention
- Ensure content aligns with advertising goals and contributes to revenue growth
4) Operations & Leadership
Goal: Build a high-performing business while fostering a collaborative and positive team environment.
- Set and execute ambitious audience and revenue goals aligned with DoStuff’s overall strategy
- Track KPIs across revenue, audience, and operations to guide decisions and adjust tactics
- Hire, train, and manage local teams with accountability, mentorship, and professional development
- Improve workflows and implement best practices that help the markets operate efficiently
- Collaborate closely with DoStuff HQ while owning local execution and market strategy
About You
You’re a creative thinker and natural leader with a track record of delivering results — and you’re comfortable owning sales.
- Entrepreneurial — you thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy building from the ground up
- Strategic — you can see the big picture and execute on the details
- Sales-driven — you know how to build relationships, develop pipelines, and close deals
- Community-minded — you’re connected to Seattle and Portland’s cultural and creative scenes
- Data-savvy — you use performance insights to identify opportunities and improve outcomes
- A strong team leader — you know how to motivate people and create momentum
