Nestled in the heart of Capitol Hill, this 10th Avenue diner is the haunt for pub crawlers and Seattle hipsters alike. Step into a mid-century greasy spoon reminiscent of a David Lynch set and settle in for a fix of poached eggs, a thick, juicy burger, or a slice of pie. Despite its retro vibe and red leather upholstered booths, this diner-bar has only been open since 2013! Known for having the stiffest drink on the hill, make sure to pop in for their happy hour Monday through Friday, 6-9AM and again from 4-6PM.

North Star Diner & Shanghai Room

Formerly the neighborhood Chinese joint and karaoke bar, Yen Wor Garden; North Star Diner took over the space in 2013 but has stayed true to its roots with its add-on Shanghai Room and revived karaoke station! Enjoy this Greenwood classic’s buttermilk pancakes, then hop over to the 50 seat patio in the Shanghai Room for karaoke and a Shanghai Sling. Take your pick between traditional American diner charm over a strong cup of joe or move on over to the diner’s self-proclaimed “dark-side” for an even stronger drink and to sing your heart out.

High-backed leather booths and anything from filet mignon to deep fried ice cream have kept its loyal customers crawling back to 13 Coins over the years. With spots in Bellevue, Seattle and SeaTac, 13 Coins offers up its old school glitz with your choice of American fare. Beth's Cafe

Drive too fast down Aurora Avenue and you might miss it; Beth’s Cafe is a no-frills late night spot on the 99 Highway, near and dear to the hearts of North Seattle high schoolers as the post-dance destination. Open 24 hours a day, Beth and Harold Eisenstadt opened the self-titled establishment in 1954, originally as a nickel slots parlor. Stop in for a “World Famous Omelette”, including the humongous 12 egg omelette, if you can stomach it. From floor to ceiling, the walls are plastered with crayon doodles on white 8”x11” sheets of paper, replaced every year on New Year’s Day. Be sure to make your way to this Green Lake joint if you’re ever in need of a hangover cure.
